If you are a Settlement Class Member and do not exclude yourself, you may receive an equal share of the Class Fund. The notice estimates your payment at $219.27, but describes that as an estimate rather than a guaranteed amount.

The payment is treated as non-wage damages and will be reported on a 1099.

You do not need to submit a claim described in the notice. If the Court approves the settlement and you stay in the class, the administrator will mail a payment.

To help receive it, make sure the Settlement Administrator has your current mailing address. You can contact the administrator or send the Address Form that came with the notice. The notice also says you can use your Login ID and PIN to change how you want to receive the award, with any desired changes made by October 12, 2026.

The Court must first grant final approval. Payments are to be sent after any appeals and other reviews are finished. The notice does not give a specific payment date.

Once issued, a settlement payment expires and becomes void after 180 days.

The settlement has a $3,000,000 Common Fund. Court-approved attorneys’ fees, litigation costs and expenses, and a service award for the named plaintiff are paid from that fund.

Class Counsel plan to request $1,000,000 in fees, up to $5,000 in costs and expenses, and a $25,000 service award. The Court decides the amounts, and it may award less.

You can leave the settlement by mailing a signed exclusion letter to the Settlement Administrator with a postmark no later than October 12, 2026. You cannot exclude yourself by phone or email.

Your letter must include your name, address, a statement that you want to be excluded, and your or your attorney’s signature and signing date. If you exclude yourself, you will not receive a payment, but you will not release the claims covered by this case.

If you remain in the settlement, you may object by filing a written objection with King County Superior Court by October 12, 2026. You must also mail copies of the objection and any supporting documents to Class Counsel and Scribd’s attorneys by that date.

The notice lists detailed information that a valid written objection must contain, including your contact information, your reasons, information about any lawyer you retained, whether you plan to appear at the hearing, certain lists of prior class-action objections, and a signature and date.

If you do nothing and the Court approves the settlement, you remain in the class, may receive a mailed payment after your valid address is confirmed, and are bound by the settlement and Court orders.

Unless you timely exclude yourself, you give up the right to sue Scribd and the other released parties over the claims covered by this settlement for the period from January 1, 2023 through preliminary approval. The notice says claims outside that release are not waived.

The Final Approval Hearing is scheduled for January 15, 2027, at 10:00 A.M. in Courtroom 3C at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, Washington. Remote attendance is also available through the Zoom link and meeting ID in the notice.

You do not have to attend. If you want to speak, you may ask the Court for permission, but you must not have excluded yourself. The hearing date and time can change by court order.
