Who Is Included

The settlement covers people and entities that directly purchased qualifying fresh or frozen boxed or case-ready Beef from Cargill, JBS, National Beef, or Tyson, or their subsidiaries or affiliates, for use or delivery in the United States from January 1, 2015, through February 29, 2020. Qualifying Beef is from chuck, loin, rib, or round primals. Excluded products include organic, grass-fed, kosher, halal, certified humane, Wagyu, American-Style Kobe Beef, and products that are cooked, marinated, seasoned, flavored, or breaded. The notice also excludes specified defendants and related entities, government entities, certain court personnel and jurors, and people who properly opt out.

  • Products included: Fresh or frozen boxed beef and case-ready beef made from Fed Cattle in the United States, limited to loin, chuck, rib, and round primal cuts.

  • A payment is not a fixed amount. The remaining fund will be divided proportionally based on each approved claimant’s qualifying Beef purchases compared with all approved claims.
  • Before payments, the fund may pay notice and administration expenses, Court-approved attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, service awards, and future litigation costs.
  • The Claims Administrator will calculate each qualifying claimant’s amount, if any.

  • If you received a pre-populated Claim Form, you can use its Unique ID Number to review the purchase amounts online.
  • You may accept those amounts. If you disagree, submit a Purchase Audit Request Form and supporting records by November 30, 2026.
  • The notice requires actual documentation for the entire amount of any revised or supplemental purchases. Those revised amounts will be reviewed.

  • The Fairness Hearing is scheduled for November 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Central in Courtroom 15 of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, 300 South Fourth Street, Minneapolis. The Court may move the hearing.
