Who is included, and who is excluded?
- The settlement covers people in the United States who were sent a notice of the data breach.
- It does not cover Anixter and certain associated people and entities, people who properly opt out, the parties’ attorneys, the judge and the judge’s family and staff, or anyone who caused the incident.

Can I receive more than one benefit?
- Identity protection and credit monitoring can be claimed along with cash benefits.
- For cash benefits, you may seek both documented expense reimbursement and lost-time reimbursement if you qualify for each.
- The $50 payment is an alternative: choosing it means you cannot also receive the other cash-payment options.
What does the identity-protection benefit include?
- The service is CyEx Identity Defense Complete for one year.
- It includes credit-file monitoring, dark-web scanning, public-records monitoring, help from a fraud-resolution agent, and $1 million in identity-theft insurance.
- A valid, timely Claim Form is required to receive settlement benefits.
What is needed for reimbursement of expenses?
- You can request up to $5,000 for actual out-of-pocket losses caused by the data incident, if the losses occurred from July 17, 2023 through October 19, 2026.
- Examples include identity-theft or fraud losses, certain credit-related fees, ID replacement costs, and postage for contacting banks.
- Send records such as bank statements or receipts showing the amount and the connection to the data incident. Your own notes may support other proof, but cannot establish the claim on their own.
- You cannot recover an amount that another party already reimbursed.
What time can be claimed?
- You may request payment for up to three hours spent responding to the data incident, paid at $17.50 an hour. The most available under this benefit is $52.50.
- Examples include changing passwords, looking into suspicious account activity, and researching the incident.
- Briefly describe how you used the time.
What does choosing the $50 alternative payment mean?
- The notice allows a one-time $50 cash payment instead of expense reimbursement and lost-time reimbursement.
- No proof or explanation is required for the $50 option, but you still need to submit a valid and timely Claim Form to receive settlement benefits.
What are the claim submission options and deadline?
- You may submit a claim online, or download a form and mail it to the Settlement Administrator.
- An online claim must be submitted by October 19, 2026.
- A mailed claim must be completed and signed, include supporting documents when required, and be postmarked by October 19, 2026.
What happens if I opt out, and what must my request include?
- Leaving the settlement is called requesting exclusion, or opting out.
- If you opt out, you receive no settlement benefits, but you keep any rights you may have to bring your own case about the legal issues involved.
- Your request must identify the case, include your contact information and personal signature, and clearly say that you do not want to participate. It must be submitted, postmarked, or emailed by September 18, 2026.
How can I object to the settlement?
- If you remain in the settlement, you may object by September 18, 2026. You cannot object after opting out.
- A complete objection must be filed with the Clerk of Court by that date, and a copy must also be sent to the Settlement Administrator.
- The objection must include your contact information, proof that you are a class member, your reasons and supporting material, whether you or your lawyer want to speak at the hearing, and a signature.
When is the hearing, and when might benefits be issued?
- The final approval hearing is scheduled for November 23, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Central Time. It is set to occur by Zoom and is also associated with Courtroom 624 at the Sangamon County Courthouse.
- You do not have to attend. The court will consider a timely written objection even if you do not appear.
- The court still must approve the settlement, and payments would be distributed only after final approval and after any appeals are resolved. The notice does not give a payment date.
What happens if I do nothing?
- You will not receive a benefit or payment.
- Unless you opted out, you will remain in the settlement and give up the rights described in the settlement release, including the ability to be part of another lawsuit against Anixter over issues covered by the settlement.
