Sportsman's Guide Firearm Privacy Settlement: What It Paid

The settlement does not promise every approved claimant $145. Payments come from the settlement fund and may be adjusted downward based on how many valid claims are filed.

• A valid, timely claim can pay up to $145.
• The amount may be reduced proportionately if the number of valid claims requires it. This means $145 is a maximum, not a guaranteed payment.

A Claim Form is required. Doing nothing does not result in a payment.

• Submit a Claim Form online by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on October 5, 2026.
• Or mail a paper Claim Form postmarked by October 5, 2026.
• Paper forms may be downloaded or requested from the Settlement Administrator.

The notice does not describe the documentation requirements for a valid claim. The Claim Form itself may provide further instructions.

• The notice requires a timely, valid Claim Form.
• It does not say whether you must provide an order record, proof of Pennsylvania residence, an attestation, or other supporting documents.

Payment timing is not final yet. The October 28, 2026 hearing is when the Court is scheduled to consider approval; it is not itself a payment date.

• You may choose a check, Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle.
• Payments are scheduled only if the Court approves the settlement and the settlement becomes final. Approved claims are to be paid within 30 days after final approval and/or completion of any appeals.
• An issued payment becomes void if it is not cashed within 90 days.

The $1,015,000 fund is not reserved only for claimant payments. These other approved settlement expenses are also paid from it.

• The fund is up to $1,015,000.
• It pays class-member payments as well as settlement administration, notice costs, attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, and any service award to the class representative.
• Class Counsel may ask for up to one-third of the fund, but the Court decides the amount.

Not filing a claim is different from leaving the settlement. To keep your own related claims, you would need to submit a valid exclusion request by the exclusion deadline.

• You will not receive settlement benefits.
• You will remain bound by the Court’s judgment and dismissal if the settlement becomes final.
• You will release claims against Sportsman’s Guide and the released parties related to the allegations in this case.

Excluding yourself means leaving the settlement. It is different from objecting: an objector stays in the settlement class, while a person who excludes themselves is no longer part of it.

• Mail or deliver a written exclusion request by September 21, 2026.
• Include your name, address, personal signature, the case name and number, and a statement that you want to be excluded.
• An excluded person cannot receive settlement benefits, but does not release claims they may have against Sportsman’s Guide.

A person who wishes to speak at the final approval hearing must say so in the written objection and meet the notice’s additional requirements for witnesses and exhibits.

• Only a class member who has not requested exclusion may object.
• File a written objection with the Court and mail or deliver copies as required by September 21, 2026.
• The objection must state the reasons, include supporting material, and provide the information listed in the notice, including a signature.

At the hearing, the Court is scheduled to consider whether to approve the settlement, attorneys’ fees and expenses, and the requested service award.

• The hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on October 28, 2026.
• It is scheduled at the Delaware County Courthouse, 201 West Front Street, Media, Pennsylvania.
• Attendance is not required. The hearing date or time may change.
