Questions & Answers
Who is covered by this settlement?
The settlement covers U.S. residents who bought one of the listed iPhone models in the United States for personal or other non-resale use during the stated purchase period. To receive money, a person also has to say they expected certain Siri Apple Intelligence features at purchase that they did not receive.
The notice excludes Apple and related people and entities, as well as the judge assigned to the case, that judge’s staff, and their immediate family members.
How much could a valid claim pay?
A valid claim pays $25 for each eligible device claimed. That amount could go up or down after claims are reviewed, but it cannot be more than $95 per device.
The final payment depends on the number of valid claims and devices claimed, as well as deductions from the settlement fund for such items as notice and administration, taxes, court-approved lawyer fees and costs, and service awards.
Can I claim for more than one phone, and how do I submit a claim?
You may submit a claim for each eligible device you purchased. You must personally complete and submit a valid Claim Form by December 21, 2026.
The notice directs people to use the online Claim Form. You can choose payment by a physical check or a digital check if your claim is approved.
What information will the claim form require?
The Claim Form asks for your current contact details and confirmations about the phone purchase, purchase date, and the Siri Apple Intelligence features you expected but did not receive.
It also requires information sufficient to confirm purchase and/or ownership. The notice does not say which documents, if any, must be provided, so it does not identify a specific receipt, invoice, or other record as required proof.
When could payments be sent?
Payments cannot be made unless the Court approves the settlement. The final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027, at 9:00 a.m.
There may be appeals after approval. If there is no appeal, the notice says benefits will be processed promptly, but it does not provide a specific payment date.
What happens if I do nothing or opt out?
If you do nothing, you will not receive a payment. But if you are a class member, you will still be bound by the settlement and give up the covered rights to bring or participate in a lawsuit against Apple about the claims in this case.
To keep any right you may have to bring your own related claim, you must exclude yourself (opt out) by mailing an individual written request for exclusion postmarked by December 21, 2026. An opt-out means you receive no settlement payment.
What must an opt-out request include?
You generally may request exclusion only for yourself. An authorized representative may request exclusion for a minor or entity they represent.
- Use an individual written request; group or mass opt-outs are not allowed.
- Include the case name and number, your full name, address, telephone number, your personal signature and date, and a clear statement that you want to opt out or be excluded.
- Mail the request to the Settlement Administrator so it is postmarked no later than December 21, 2026.
Can I object to the settlement instead of opting out?
An objection tells the Court why you oppose the settlement, requested lawyer fees and expenses, or service awards. You may object only if you remain in the settlement; someone who opts out cannot object.
A written objection must be filed electronically, in person, or by mail by December 21, 2026. It must include identifying and contact information, information showing you are a class member, the reasons for the objection and supporting evidence, and other details listed in the notice.
