Who Is Included

The proposed class covers certain current and former owners or lessees of qualifying 2013–2016 Range Rover Evoque, 2015–2017 Discovery Sport, and 2013–2015 Land Rover LR2 vehicles registered in a state or the District of Columbia by September 27, 2024, with a brazed scroll turbocharger. Important exclusions apply.

  • Products included: Model Year 2013–2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Model Year 2015–2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport, and Model Year 2013–2015 Land Rover LR2 vehicles equipped with a brazed scroll turbocharger.
  • Proof required: For reimbursement, submit a Claim Form with documents or other proof showing ownership or lease status when costs were incurred, the turbocharger failure and when it happened, the repair or replacement, and payment of the out-of-pocket costs. Engine claims also need proof that the engine repair or replacement was necessary because of a turbocharger failure; contemporaneous engine and turbocharger work is presumed sufficient unless contrary documentation exists. A VIN lookup or ordinary eligibility information does not replace this reimbursement documentation.

Claim and Payment Information

  • Claim method: Online portal or mail
  • Instructions: Submit a separate Claim Form and supporting documents for each turbocharger or engine repair or replacement. Do not send the claim materials to the Court or the attorneys listed in the notice.

Questions & Answers

What records do I need for a reimbursement claim?

A reimbursement claim needs more than a VIN or proof that the vehicle is in the settlement. You need a separate Claim Form and supporting records for the repair expense.

  • The claim form must show that you owned or leased the vehicle when you paid the cost.
  • It must show the turbocharger failed, when it failed, what repair or replacement was done, and what you paid yourself.
  • For an engine claim, you must also show that the engine work was needed because of a turbocharger failure. If the engine and turbocharger work happened at the same time, that connection is presumed unless records show otherwise.

How do I submit claims if my vehicle had more than one qualifying repair?

The notice does not give a fixed calendar claim deadline. Instead, the deadline is 90 days after the court enters final approval. The Claim Form provides further eligibility details and the mailing address.

  • Submit one Claim Form for each separate turbocharger or engine repair or replacement.
  • You may submit the form through the settlement’s online portal or mail it to the address on the Claim Form.
  • Do not send the form or supporting records to the court or to the lawyers named in the notice.

What can reduce or limit reimbursement for a past repair?

The percentages in the notice are maximum reimbursement percentages, not automatic payments of the caps. They apply only if the vehicle meets both the applicable age and mileage requirements.

  • Money already repaid from any source, including goodwill assistance, is subtracted from your out-of-pocket cost.
  • Turbocharger reimbursement is capped at $3,750 for a turbocharger repair or replacement.
  • Engine reimbursement is capped at $12,000 for an engine repair or replacement caused by a turbocharger failure.

When can a repair be excluded from reimbursement?

These restrictions apply in addition to the vehicle’s age-and-mileage percentage tier.

  • No reimbursement is available when records clearly show the repair was required by a collision, accident, vandalism, substantial failure to follow the maintenance schedule, or customer abuse.
  • The failed turbocharger or engine generally must have been factory-installed equipment. An exception may apply if the vehicle had received a replacement brazed-scroll turbocharger.
  • A repair that occurred after the vehicle had been in service more than 10 years or had more than 100,000 miles is not eligible for reimbursement for that repair.

Do I need to file a claim to use the extended warranty?

The warranty extension is different from reimbursement for a repair you already paid for. It applies to qualifying future turbocharger work and qualifying engine work caused by a turbocharger failure.

  • You do not need to submit a claim for the extended-warranty benefit.
  • It becomes available only after final approval and after the appeal period has passed.
  • For future qualifying work, take the vehicle to an authorized Land Rover retailer. The ordinary New Vehicle Limited Warranty terms and limits still apply except for the extended time and mileage periods.

What do I need to do if I want to opt out?

Excluding yourself, also called opting out, means leaving the settlement. This is the option for someone who wants to keep the ability to pursue a separate lawsuit about claims released by this settlement.

  • You must mail an exclusion request; phone calls and email cannot be used.
  • Include your name, address, telephone number, signature, vehicle VIN, and the case reference.
  • The request must be postmarked by June 20, 2025. If you exclude yourself, you cannot receive reimbursement benefits or object to the settlement.
