Fort Wayne Medical Education Data Breach Settlement
Fort Wayne Medical Education Program agreed to settle claims arising from a December 2024 cyberattack in which files containing private information may have been accessed. FWMEP denies wrongdoing, and the court has not decided who is right.
Benefit Summary
Class members may claim two years of either credit monitoring or medical monitoring based on whether a Social Security number was potentially compromised, plus up to $500 in ordinary documented losses including up to $80 for lost time, and up to $5,000 in extraordinary documented losses. Instead of all other payments and benefits, they may claim $40 without proof.

Up to $5,500 in documented loss reimbursement, including up to $80 for lost time, plus two years of monitoring; or a $40 no-proof cash alternative
Who Is Included
All people whose private information was potentially compromised in the December 2024 incident and who appear on the Settlement Class List. Exclusions include the assigned judge, court personnel and their immediate families; FWMEP and related entities and representatives; and anyone found criminally responsible for the incident.
- Proof required: Documentation is required for ordinary and extraordinary loss reimbursement. Lost-time claims require a description of tasks and time. No proof or explanation is required for the $40 alternative payment.
